1 st day : Fes to Merzouga
We’ll convene at your accommodation at 7:30 a.m. to kick off our journey. Our initial stop, approximately an hour and a half later, will be Ifrane city, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Here, you’ll have around 15 minutes to explore this charming city before we proceed to Azrou. In Azrou, we’ll encounter and feed the Barbary apes while capturing a few memorable photographs.
Following this, we’ll embark on a three-hour drive to Midelt city, positioned halfway to our desert destination, where we’ll pause for lunch. Post-lunch, we’ll continue our drive towards the Sahara desert, with a captivating stop at the stunning oasis of Ziz valley.
At Ziz valley, we’ll take a brief break to marvel at the countless palm trees before heading to Merzouga dunes, where we’ll partake in a camel ride across the dunes to reach our campsite. Here, dinner and breakfast will be served, and you’ll also have access to shower facilities. Spend the night under the starry desert sky, soaking in the tranquil ambiance of the desert.
2 nd day : Merzouga to Marrakech
In the early morning, awaken to witness the beautiful sunrise over the desert landscape before indulging in a delightful breakfast at the camp. Following this, you have the option to choose between riding camels or jeeps to depart from the camp as we make our way towards Marrakech, a considerable distance from the desert.
Along the journey, we’ll strategically make short stops to optimize our time, ensuring we can fully immerse ourselves in the finest destinations along the route. One such highlight is the renowned Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a must-visit landmark in the area. We’ll pause for lunch in Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Hollywood of Morocco.
Post-lunch, our expedition takes us deeper into the mountains to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Following our visit to the Kasbah, we’ll traverse the lofty Tizi N Tichka Mountains en route to Marrakech, punctuating our journey with 2 to 3 brief stops. Anticipate arriving in Marrakech around 8pm, carrying with you cherished memories of an unforgettable desert experience.
