9 Days Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MARRAKECH

Upon arrival, our guide will be waiting for you at the airport to start your ,Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour. Depending on your flight schedule, we could start by exploring the city. The setting for our first adventure will be the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna square, where snake charmers, storytellers and colorful food stalls will dazzle you. From some of the surrounding rooftops, you can watch the sun set over the square. Then, you will go to your accommodation in a Riad.

DAY 2: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – KASBAH OF TELOUET – KASBAH OF AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE

Picked up at your Riad at the agreed time, we will head towards Ouarzazate crossing the majestic mountains of the High Atlas. We will reach the highest point, the N’Tichka port, 2260 meters above sea level, providing us with panoramic views that will be worthy of capturing in photographs. Then, we will detour along a semi-paved road to visit the Kasbah of Telouet, famous for its impressive architecture and panoramic views. After a local lunch, we will continue towards the Ounila Valley, finally arriving at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an iconic film set. We will spend the sunset in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gate of the Great Desert”, and stay in an authentic Riad.

DAY 3: OUARZAZATE – DRAA VALLEY – MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, we will head to the impressive Draa Valley, with its landscape dotted with date palms and Berber kasbahs. After a local lunch, we will enter the Merzouga desert. Here, you will live the experience of a camel caravan at sunset, contemplating one of the most impressive landscapes under the golden light. They will spend the night in a haima camp in the middle of the dunes, enjoying a unique evening with music and stars.

DAY 4: DESERT – NOMADIC FAMILIES – KHAMLIA

After a desert sunrise and a good breakfast, you will further explore the desert and visit local nomadic families. Afterwards, they will head to Khamlia, a village originally from Mali, where they will enjoy a Gnawa musical experience and immerse themselves in the local culture. They will continue towards the wild desert of Ouzina, a less touristy corner with a unique landscape. Finally, you will return to the Riad, where you can admire the panorama from its elevated location.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA DESERT – ZIZ VALLEY – MIDDLE ATLAS – FES

After saying goodbye to the desert, you will take a scenic drive through the Ziz Valley and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. They will visit the cedar forest, home of monkeys that inhabit the region. You will arrive in Fez at sunset, a city full of history and culture, and stay in a Riad.

DAY 6: FES

Today you will have a full day to explore Fez with a local guide. The medina of Fez is a marvel of labyrinthine streets and historic architecture. You will be able to visit the mosques, the Koranic schools and discover neighborhoods like that of the Andalusians. They can also explore the modern part of the city and enjoy a traditional Hamam.

DAY 7: FES – MARRAKECH

On your way back to Marrakech, you will have the opportunity to explore several valleys in the Middle Atlas, such as Imouzar, Kandar and Arroyo. If time permits, you can visit the Ouzoud Falls. Accommodation in a Riad in Marrakech.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH

This day will take you back to Marrakech, where you will have the opportunity to explore the city in more detail. The monuments, the medina and the iconic Jemaa el-Fna square await you for a unique experience. Once again, you will rest in an authentic Riad.

DAY 9: MARRAKECH – AIRPORT

After breakfast, you can take a last walk through the streets of Marrakech before being transferred to Marrakech airport for your return flight. It has been a journey full of exploration, culture and natural wonders, leaving behind lasting memories and unforgettable experiences.
